Men often see hair loss as a love killer. They believe that women will no longer find them as attractive and risk losing their self-confidence. This is very close to the truth.

The real problem is that many men who experience hair loss spend too much time trying to camouflage their thinning or falling hair when, in reality, they should be embracing it. The truth is, a lot women like men who are bald and clean-shaven. Read on to discover some of the reasons why.

1. They give off a masculine vibe

Bald and shaved men have symbolized strength, power and raw masculinity for centuries, and modern times are no exception. There’s nothing sexier than a man who embraces his clean-shaven look, and women take notice.

2. They are more mature in appearance

There’s something about a clean-shaven man that suggests maturity, one of the things that turns women’s heads the most.

A man who has voluntarily chosen to shave has made a choice to assume his physical identity and embrace the image he conveys. He’s identified as a man of strong character, a man who really knows what he wants.

3. Hormones

One of the causes of hair loss is the abundance of testosterone. These hormones have a way of attracting women like a magnet – naturally, all over the world.

4. Everything about them exudes confidence

Men who choose to be completely clean-shaven make a bold statement about loving their appearance and feeling comfortable in their own skin. This is a man who isn’t afraid to be himself. This obvious confidence attracts women more than any other frontline style with hair.

5. They have a trendier style

The act of shaving has become trendy in recent years. A man who knows and follows what’s fashionable is very attractive to a fashionable woman.

6. You can’t tell their age

A clean-shaven man instantly looks much younger. Thinning hair and hair loss in general is directly perceived as a sign of old age, and let’s not talk about the gray hairs that add a few years to your life. Shaven men look physically younger in age, and consequently younger in mind.

7. They don’t need to use fancy hair products

A very recent study has clearly shown that men who comb their hair more frequently and obsess about it are often perceived as “less up to date” and with a more feminine attitude. The science is in: women simply aren’t attracted to men who use more products than they do.

8. They look neat and well-maintained

Women flock to men who are impeccably presented and clean-cut. Fortunately, a shaved head never looks dirty! Men who shave always look fresh, whether in the morning when they get out of bed or after a hard workout.

9. No need for special maintenance or superfluous products

Women may be attracted to clean, organized men, but a man who spends too much time in front of the mirror looks far less attractive. The last thing a woman wants is for her man to spend more time getting ready than she does!

10. It’s all his other qualities that stand out.

A head with a shaved look, unlike a hyper-sophisticated haircut, in no way detracts from all the other good assets a man has to offer. Without worrying about the embarrassment of hair loss, a man can concentrate on the other important assets that are part of his personal qualities.

What the numbers say

After giving my personal opinions on the subject, I thought it would be more interesting to go to the source and ask these questions to several hundred women in order to gather conclusive answers.

So we asked them questions such as “Do women like beards?” and “What kind of body care do women find attractive?”. We organized a nationwide survey by a reputable polling company to ensure that we benefited from a high-quality, representative sample.

We asked women to rate how attractive they found men with shaved heads on a scale from “very repulsive” to “very attractive”.

Below are our results and analysis:

Taking a first look at the results, they don’t seem all that encouraging for bald men, but to be honest, it’s not all that bad.

Only 36% of women find men with shaved heads repulsive, while 28% said otherwise!

What’s more, when you look at the breakdown between different age groups, we see an interesting trend:

The older women get, the more attractive they find men with shaved heads. 44% of women aged 35 to 44 find bald men attractive, compared to just 19% of women aged 18 to 24.

Whereas most men tend to really start losing their hair at a slightly older age, which is very encouraging.

Of the 44% of women who find bald men attractive, 19% find them very attractive. Furthermore, only 19% of these women find a shaved head repulsive, with only 7% finding it very repulsive.

So, When Should You Shave Your Head?

The next main question we want to address is the point at which (i.e. the level of baldness) a man should consider shaving his head?

To do this, we presented two images to the women, each featuring two typical levels of hair loss based on research attesting to the cut-off point at which men should consider shaving their heads.

The women surveyed were asked to rate what men should do with his hair at each level of baldness, ranging from letting it grow out to shaving it off completely.

The majority of women think that men with only mild baldness should keep their hair short. But women’s opinions change drastically when it comes to men with moderate baldness.

A majority of women think that a man with a moderate level of baldness should shave his head completely.

When it comes to assessing the results by age group, it’s worth noting that slightly more women aged 18 to 24 think that men should let their hair grow, whether they have mild or moderate baldness.

Other factors to take into account

It’s also important to mention that other factors come into play when a man thinks about shaving his head, including the shape of his head, facial features, etc…These can make a man more or less attractive when he has a shaved head.

It’s something that’s echoed in many of the additional comments that the women surveyed added to their survey responses.

Some men are more SEXY when they’re shaved, others aren’t. I think it depends on the shape of his head.

(Women aged 30 to 44)

They have to have a head with the right shape for it to look right.

(Women aged 18 to 29)

It’s sexy on certain men

(Women aged 30 to 44)

Also, growing a beard can significantly enhance the attractiveness of a bald man to women for several reasons. First and foremost, a well-groomed beard can add a sense of maturity and masculinity to his overall appearance, which many women find appealing.

The beard can also help balance out the lack of hair on the scalp, creating a more harmonious and attractive facial structure. Furthermore, a beard can convey confidence and self-assuredness, qualities that are universally attractive.

It can also be seen as a sign of patience and dedication, as growing and maintaining a beard requires time and effort.

Ultimately, a beard can add character to a bald man’s look, making him stand out and appear more interesting and confident, qualities that are often associated with increased attractiveness.

Conclusion

So, do women like bald men? Obviously, there are different cases, but it seems clear that the older women get, the more attractive they find a shaved head.

And on the subject of whether you should shave your head. That’s something you have to decide for yourself, but we hope the results presented in this article help to guide you a little further and clarify the situation.
